How to Take Control of Your Day
If your mornings are like that of most of us ambitious moms, it starts with a list of to-dos running through your brain as you get the kids off to school and yourself off to work. Shortly after, your brain actually wakes up and you start asking yourself questions like “When does this get easy? What I am going to do about dinner? Why can’t I get my crap together? Why can’t I remember anything? Why am I always so exhausted? How am I going to possibly do this…plus all that?”
Questions like this pop in/out of your brain all day. They don’t seem like much of a big deal in the moment or maybe you don’t even notice they are there most of the time. But nonetheless, they are…draining your mental energy little by little throughout the day.
The questions we ask ourselves each day are linked to the results we have in our lives as well as to our overall well-being. Our brain is really good at finding the answers to the questions we ask it. It goes to work on finding evidence for everything we think. So, if we are asking ourselves something like “Why is this so hard?” our brain goes to work on finding evidence for how hard life is.

It’s important to ask ourselves better questions so WE can control our day rather than letting our toddler brain take off toward the white wall with a red crayon.
Here are 10 empowering questions you can offer your brain to create more of want you want and less of what you don’t!
1) What are the top 3 things I will get done today?
2) What small step can I take to get this done?
3) Is this belief serving me in my life?
4) How can I make today better than yesterday?
5) What went right today?
6) What do I love about myself?
7) What can I do today to get one step closer to the future I really want?
8) How can I make this fun?
9) How do I want to feel today? What can I think to create that feeling?
10) How do I want to show up today? (as a mom, wife, co-worker, boss, etc.)
When we offer our brain more creative and empowering questions, we are much more likely to actually figure out this “adulting” stuff with less stress and overwhelm and more joy!
